ABOUT
HELPING FILMMAKERS AND CREATIVE TEAMS BUILD BELIEVABLE, STORY-DRIVEN WORLDS!
Hello! I’m a senior Digital Matte Painter and Visual Effects artist with over 30 years of experience creating environments, set extensions, and invisible effects for feature films, episodic television, and commercial projects.
In addition to hands-on shot work, I bring sequence-level and supervisory experience - supporting teams with look development, shot continuity, technical direction, and problem-solving across production. Whether embedded as an artist or operating in a lead/support role, my focus is always the same: serve the story, respect the pipeline, and keep work moving forward.
A LIFELONG OBSESSION WITH IMAGINARY WORLDS
That photo above is me at about seven years old, surrounded by Star Wars and anime toys. My fascination with science fiction, scale, and imagined worlds started early - and never went away.
What started as drawing, model kits, and painting evolved into digital environments, photoreal compositing, and production-ready VFX work. I still approach every shot with that same sense of curiosity—only now it’s backed by decades of technical experience and real-world production constraints.
WHAT I DO
Digital Matte Painting & Environment Design: Cinematic environments and set extensions that integrate seamlessly into live-action plates while maintaining scale, mood, and realism.
Compositing & Shot Integration: Photoreal integration of CG, matte paintings, and live-action elements with strong attention to lighting, continuity, and sequence cohesion.
Supervision, Look Development & Problem Solving: Supporting directors, producers, supervisors, and teams through look development, shot planning, technical guidance, and late-stage problem solving - especially when clarity, consistency, and experience matter.
HOW I WORK
Much of the work is done remotely, collaborating with distributed teams and integrating quickly into existing pipelines. The focus stays on clear communication, visual continuity, and keeping production moving forward. Whether working hands-on or in a lead or supervisory capacity, the goal is simple: stay calm under pressure, respect schedules and budgets, and help shots - and teams - work better.
LET’S TALK!
If you’re looking for a senior artist who can contribute at the shot level and support teams through leadership, continuity, and problem-solving, I’m always open to a conversation.
